Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, fires up a 9.9kW installation this weekend, which should produce the electricity needed to operate the stadium's scoreboard. The Rockies claim the first "utility scale" solar PV installation in the Major Leagues; but who's to say what's utility scale: the San Francisco Giants have had a 4.5kW system since 2005, and they're developing a 120kW installation at AT&T Park that is expected to be operational while the season is just heating up.
